Topic: Backyard Nuisances - Ticks and Poison Ivy

What's your least favorite thing in your backyard? For many, poison ivy and ticks would make the top five list. Erika Lyon, OSU Agriculture and Natural Resources Educator, will be talking about how to identify poison ivy and ticks that you should be concerned with as well as management strategies for controlling these nuisances on your property. Bring your tick and poisonous plant questions!

Erika Lyon is an Extension Educator for the Agriculture and Natural Resources program at the Ohio State University. She started her career at the Mahaska County Soil and Water Conservation District in Iowa in 2012 before attending the University of Maine for the Ecology and Environmental Sciences graduate program. Erika came to work for Ohio State University Extension in May, 2016, where she organizes educational programs in the areas of general agriculture, horticulture, forestry, and energy and identifies weeds, insects, snakes, wildlife, and other fun things related to the outdoors.
